As we grow older, besides our the numbers in our age and the wrinkles on our faces increasing, our confidence and personality grow too. I always take the time to look back at my younger years to reflect and appreciate who I've become today. I believe that every mistake, lesson, positive and negative experience you go through shapes your attitude, confidence and personality. I always emphasize the need to embrace change. Along with negative changes comes positive changes. For example, becoming able to accept what you once considered a flaw about yourself. I was recently inspired by People Magazine's "Most Beautiful People" issue. They asked celebrities certain questions and the answers, especially coming from celebrities are amazing because you wouldn't expect these individuals to be insecure about anything. Here are what some of my beautiful friends and followers had to say when I asked "What you have learned to love about yourself?"
"I love that my hard work and consistency in my personal life and in my career is finally paying off." - A.M.
"I'm pretty blessed with genetics (ah please world don't hate me), but I eat moderately healthy and hit the gym 3-4 times a week. I'm not a genius but I'm smart enough, I try to be a nice, good natured person. There is something to be said about treating those the way you want to be treated. So what's my point in all this? I've just learned through time and life that I am who I am and I love me! It took a long time for me to get over the fact that I'm a minority but I wouldn't have it any other way." - T.L.
"I love that I am an Olympic goal jumper. I constantly have the bar set for me 2 jumper over. I have ambitious, enthusiastic and positive heart that finds new and exciting opportunities to achieve Gold in an accomplishments marathon." - C.W.
"I love that I can finally be comfortable in my skin. I am a more confident, outgoing, outspoken and honest person. I have my past to thank for that." - J.J.
Those are amazing answers. Now, I know you're probably wondering what my response to that question will be. Well, here it is.
"I have learned to accept my height and weight. As a child and teenager, I was always the tallest of most of my girlfriends. Along with that, my weight always fluctuated. It made it hard for me to always feel good about who I was. I knew I was a smart kid, talented and always ambitious but I feel like growing up, especially when I was around other girls, my height and weight held me back from being comfortable and 100% myself. Although I have now come to love myself, all of me, I'm actually thankful for the struggles that I had as a child and teen because they made me who I am today. I am becoming more and more comfortable and confident in my own skin. And for me, that's the best feeling ever!" - P.D.
