FAB FIVE!

What's a girl to do on a Saturday that everyone who she normally hangs out with has plans or prior commitments? 


She does her own thing. I love having days designated to me, myself and I. What I thought was going to be a Saturday spent doing nothing but being a couch potato actually turned out to be FAB!


Here are some of my FAB FIVE suggestions on how to spend some quality time with yourself. I did all of these things today!

1. I went for a manicure. After a couple stressful days this week, it was definitely much needed and well deserved (that's a bias opinion of course).

2. I cooked up a great meal (again a bias opinion) with a new recipe that I've been wanting to try for a while. 


*Recipe: Take boneless, skinless chicken and cut into thin diagonal pieces. Mix chicken pieces with the pesto (use your favorite pesto from a jar). Coat all pieces of chicken evenly. Brown  the pieces of chicken in a hot pan with olive oil and onions. Then after 5-7 minutes of the chicken browning, add in 2 tablespoons of Philly Cream Cheese. Let the cream cheese melt in with the chicken creating a sauce. For the pasta, pick which pasta you love, boil, strain and add in with the chicken and the pesto sauce. Cook for another 5-10 minutes.


3. I laid back a bit and relaxed while watching my favorite series ever. The Hills. Its nice to take some time on a day off to actually be off your feet. 


4. Speaking of being off your feet, I decided to give myself a pedicure. I have all the materials at home (a collection actually) and my feet are super sensitive so I've learned to do it myself. (What a great way to relax!)

5. I reorganized! I have micro-managing issues so of course, I had to make some use of a day off that would benefit me. I reorganized my clothes into baskets (Thank you Ikea) and reorganized and redecorated parts of my room.



Sometimes its super beneficial to have time to yourself. I always make a list of things that I want to accomplish around the house or for myself and whenever these kinds of days come up...I try and get as much as I can done.
