New Year, New You? 5 Tips to help you keep to those resolutions.

Happy New Year Everyone!! I'm sure your Facebook and Instagram timelines, along with your Twitter feed is full of people stating their New Year's Resolutions. You've probably seen the quote "New Year, New Me" an ample amount of times already and its not even the second day into the new year yet. It seems like setting a resolution or goal for the new year is something that people are doing more and more as the years go on. Everytime that I set my goals for the new year, I always keep in mind what my Momma always told me, "Darling, it's always easier said than done." This is so true! It's very important to set resolutions or goals for yourself, but there are some key things to remember when setting these "resolutions."

1. Be realistic. We can all think big but make sure you aren't setting yourself up for failure by being unrealistic with your resolutions. Make sure you know that what you want is attainable.
2. Set a timeline. A goal, a resolution, whatever you want it to be called, always needs a timeline. If you give yourself a reasonable amount of time to achieve it, it can be done.
3. Don't set too many resolutions for yourself. If you have ten different things that you're trying to accomplish by the time 2015 is over, you may just end up disappointing yourself. Again, be realistic when thinking about how many resolutions you want for yourself. I would say two or three max.
4. Formulate a plan. Sounds silly but if it is written, it's easier to follow through. If you can make a list or write down what you want to achieve exactly, then it'll be easier to know what needs to be done and therefore, your resolutions are more attainable.
5. Motivation and follow through. It's crucial to have good motivation surrounding you because that helps with the follow through and ultimately helps you to achieve what you want. For example, if you're trying to lose weight or be more active, ensure that you have friends to go to the gym with or workout with. That way it doesn't seem tideous.

Whatever your resolutions or goals maybe for this new year, I wish all of you nothing but the best for 2015. I hope it brings your life more positivity, more happiness, love and success.
-Xo
